Homework Week 19 Set Yourself Up as an Expert

- Make sure your website has great CONTENT. Update it at least once a month
- Blogs. Brain dump to come up with ideas. Blogs can and should be short, but useful
- Video Blogging. Can be done via Facebook Live, Instagram TV, YouTube, and on your own website.
- HARO. HelpAReporter.com Register yourself as a source and start getting the emails. Put together a Bio and Contact Info that you can cut and paste to allow you to respond quickly. This also gives you an idea of the topics people are talking about
- Community Newsletters. Always looking for good, short content (typically 200 - 350 words) Publishers usually look after numerous communities
- Trade Journals. Always looking for great content. Can go more indepth. Write many articles at once. Easier for flow, can lead one into another, and it impresses editors to know they don't have to chase you
- Speaking. Many groups are looking for knowledgeable speakers to share their expertise
- Teaching. You can teach Adult Learning courses for colleges and other groups
- Lunch and Learns. Some companies offer Lunch and Learns for their employees where you can share your knowledge and expertise
- Podcasting. Being a guest is a fabulous way to highlight your expertise. There are many great groups on Facebook to connect with hosts looking for guests
- Press Releases. Even if you don't send them out (should do one about once a quarter on the "hot topic" and put it on your website on your media page
- Participate in the call and ask questions
