Successful networking is all about building relationships
Go with the intention of giving and don't keep score
You have to be consistent. It takes time for people to get to know you, like you, and trust you
Pick one or two networking groups and commit to them. Don't spread yourself too thin
Go where your prospects are
BE a Center of Influence. Be the first person people think of when they have a problem and need help
Who are the people that serve your clients, but provide different or complimentary services / products. Align with them as long as you share the same values
Keep track of who your referral sources are. Thank them, keep them in the loop, treat them special
Maintain a relationship with your Centers of Influence. Go for tea or lunch once a quarter whenever possible
Whenever you are facing a challenge or opportunity ask yourself "Who do I know that could help me with this?"
Participate in the call and ask questions
